ETAG Technology Tuesday: Tech for Inclusive Tourism
- This event has passed.
“Inclusive tourism” is the ongoing endeavour to ensure that tourist destinations, products and services are accessible to all people, regardless of any physical limitations, disabilities or age. It encompasses publicly and privately-owned tourist locations.
How can we ensure our Edinburgh tourism businesses are inclusive and have the ability to provide services to all of their visitors?
We are delighted to invite Gavin Neate, founder of Neatebox Ltd, back to our Technology Tuesday. Gavin will update us on his latest technology products including “Welcome” and inspire us to have a more inclusive approach to our businesses.
‘Welcome’ is a customer service platform which allows people with specific and potentially debilitating needs to book visits with venues and be confident that the customer service representatives at their destinations understand their needs and feel less anxious about their own responsibilities. This smartphone-based application notifies venues of any specific assistance visitors might require and gives staff top tips to consider for each disability in order to facilitate that initial interaction.
