- This event has passed.
Digital Technology is raising the bar in terms of consumer expectations and our requirement for frictionless experiences. In this age of acceleration, the screenager with the world in their pocket (smartphone) will increasingly embody technologies that will allow us to relive experiences, reboot life or even recreate the self.
Join us with Dr Matt Frew to explore consumers and the transformational technology that is reshaping the world and what it is to be human… and dare we say a tourist!

Dr Matt Frew
Matt Frew is a Senior Lecturer at the University of the West of Scotland. His eclectic work and research trajectory, having published in areas of health and fitness, sport, adventure recreation, events and festivity, which sees applied socio-cultural theory at its core. He has a particular penchant for poststructuralist theory and its use for the critical development of mega-events, music festivity and the embodied impact of new media technologies. Currently he is focusing on digital and social media, ubiquitous computing, or the evolution of the internet of things, and how this silent Tsunami of transformational technology is reshaping the world and what it is to be human. Today is a time when distinctions of production and consumption, time and space, online and offline, fantasy and reality are blurred due to the dynamic impacts of, what he terms, cultures of co-created convergence.
DTS events are aimed at tourism businesses only who operate on a B2C (Business to Consumer) or B2B (Business to Business) basis. Unfortunately, we can’t offer places to intermediaries, consultants or suppliers of services.
