Learn why as humans we respond much better to video and people in video, along with practical tips on making quality video content using mobile devices.

YouTube is a proven tool for businesses to be found by new customers when they search online, not to mention serving as a superb showcase for products and services. Videos embedded on your website, or product pages on your site, help customers make buying decisions, build trust in us and serve as a brilliant way to engage with the people we want to do business with. However, the challenge of YouTube is the creation of video content. Do we need expensive video cameras, sound and lighting equipment? Or is the solution to the creation of YouTube videos sitting on our desk right now?

In addition to this channel, the workshop will cover Periscope, how it works, the pros and cons, and planning for quality customer engagement using Periscope.

This hands-on, creative workshop will show you how to use your iPad or iPhone to shoot, edit, upload and broadcast great videos. You will learn easy-to-follow techniques for using your iPad or iPhone to capture great looking video, and then using the iMovie app (downloadable from the App Store), how to edit together your footage, add background music, a voiceover and titles, and get your fantastic video straight onto your YouTube Channel.

Essential Note: The workshop will require you to bring an iPad or iPhone and have the iMovie app installed on the device beforehand. The login details for your YouTube channel will also come in handy (if you don’t have a channel – you can set one up on the day).

Your Tutor: Mark Hunter has been working in social and digital media for over 10 years. He was a British podcast pioneer, and has been a professional blogger and digital content creator since 2005. Mark delivers consultations, workshops and seminars on new, social and digital media disciplines, strategies and best-practice for clients such as Business Gateway, Scottish Enterprise, and has worked hands-on developing strategies – and providing training – for Glasgow Airport, International Beverage, Sheraton Hotel Edinburgh, Bosch, and has worked with Toolstop, a Scottish e-Commerce giant, on its online marketing since 2009.
