The Edinburgh Military Tattoo is extremely popular bringing together performers from all around the world. It showcases music, dance and precision display with the Massed Pipes and Drums, the Bands of Her Majesty’s Royal Marine, cultural troupes, singers and the poignant refrain of the Lone Piper against the stunning backdrop of Edinburgh Castle. Edinburgh International Festival has been connecting audiences and artists for over sixty years. The Festival grew out of the rubble of the Second World War with the aim of providing ‘a platform for the flowering of the human spirit’ by inviting the world’s best artists and companies to perform, whatever their nationality. The Book Festival’s programme features high profile debates and discussions. Each year writers from all over the world gather to become part of this forum where audience and author meet to exchange thoughts and opinions on some of the world’s most pressing issues.
