Edinburgh Napier – Career Café for Hospitality/Tourism/Festival & Events

5 February 2018 at 2:30 pm - 4:30 pm
  • This event has passed.

The aim of our Career Cafés are to give our students the opportunity to chat informally with professionals in relevant sectors to find out about the range of opportunities available to them after graduation and what skills they need to acquire to help them land their perfect job! We hope to attract about 30-40 students to the event who, for the first hour, will be split into smaller groups and given the chance to speak with each employer for around 10-15mins (round robin format) the remaining hour will be open for students to go back and talk further with those professionals they would like to discuss more with. We aim to have 5 or 6 professionals supporting the event. Tea/coffee/biscuits will be available throughout the afternoon for both students and professionals.

What do we need from you? We’d like each of our professionals to have knowledge of what opportunities exist within your organisation and what skills are required for that position. Perhaps some information on your personal career path to date would be of interest to students also. The conversations will be quite student led so it’s worth being prepared for a range of potential questions.

The event will give you the opportunity to talk about your organisation and career path in an informal way and allow you to get to know our students a little better as compared to our more formal Career Fair format.

We do hope you are able to support us. Please complete this short form* to confirm your place and allow us to capture some information that we can share with our students ahead of the event to allow them to prepare.

*If you haven’t registered on myFuture (our Employer Portal) as yet please register here first ahead of completing the event form.
