DID YOU KNOW that in 2020, the date for Chinese New Year coincides with one of Scotland’s most iconic celebrations – Burns Night?  This won’t happen again until 2096!

With the Year of the Rat starting on 25 January, and with numbers of Chinese inbound visitors continuing to increase to Scotland’s capital city, we believe there’s never been a better time to celebrate and promote the cultural links between Edinburgh and China.

ETAG is once again partnering with the Heriot-Watt Scottish Confucius Institute for Business and Communication to deliver an innovative marketing and PR campaign to promote the destination and participating events around Edinburgh’s Chinese New Year 2020. Our campaign this year exceeded all expectations, with 20 events, over 40 pieces of national and international coverage and fantastic engagement from Edinburgh’s tourism community.

The 2020 campaign will create an even bigger and better platform to showcase all the many events that Edinburgh hosts over the Chinese New Year holiday period (c.20 January to 9 February) – including an increased brochure and marketing campaign.

We will also be working closely with the Burns & Beyond Team to mark the fact that Burns Night and the Chinese New Year fall on the same date,

This informal Business Briefing will tell you all you need to know about Edinburgh Chinese New Year and Burns & Beyond, to inspire and inform you about how your business can get involved to make the most of this business opportunity.
