VisitScotland’s annual flagship travel trade event, VisitScotland Connect, took place at the SEC in Glasgow a couple of weeks ago, with Edinburgh businesses in strong attendance, from Port of Leith Distillery to Dovecot Studios to Lost Shore Surf Resort, to name a few.

Businesses had the opportunity to meet with 330 global buyers (international and domestic) from 20 different countries, and over the two days over 10,000 scheduled meetings took place, where businesses showcased their product and fostered relationships with potential new markets.

Andy Hadden, Founder of Lost Shore Surf Resort comments on how valuable he found the event:

“This is the stand-out event of the year for us because of its efficient programming. It allows for quick and effective dialogue with multiple potential partners and travel buyers, cutting through what could otherwise be weeks of bilateral correspondence, and there’s no better way to form relationships than face-to-face. We’re delighted with the range of new connections that we’ve made.”
