Edinburgh Airport has secured two major service extensions, helping to improve connectivity to the city:
(i) United Airlines service between Edinburgh and Washington D.C. is extending its service into the winter months, which means the service will operate almost all year-round. The airline currently operates a daily service between April and October, but it will now carry on until 5 January, then resume on 20 February. The winter service will operate five-times-per-week.
(ii) Scotland’s only direct service to China will now operate year-round as Hainan Airlines continues to extend its presence at Edinburgh Airport. The airline’s current March to October service between Edinburgh and Beijing will now continue throughout the year, operating twice-a-week on Mondays and Fridays on an A330.
These expansions not only represent further growth for Edinburgh Airport, but help to increase direct connections to Edinburgh from these key visitor markets.
