The Tourism and Hospitality Toolkit is designed to support employers and employees across Scotland’s tourism and hospitality sector.

The toolkit was created based on findings from Serving the Future, a three-year project by the University of Strathclyde’s Fraser of Allander Institute and The Poverty Alliance, which focused on addressing and preventing in-work poverty in the hospitality sector. It has also been shaped by industry experts such as Skills Development Scotland, Scotland’s Tourism and Hospitality Industry Leadership Group, and industry charity Springboard.

The toolkit is filled with practical resources, guidance, and tools to help both employers and employees navigate the challenges and opportunities in the industry.

For employers, the toolkit offers practical solutions in areas of staffing, legal compliance, and maintaining a safe and productive work environment.
It covers core areas such as:

  • Training & Development
  • Colleges & Universities
  • Achieving Net Zero
