ETAG China Ready Initiative update (March 2024)

After more than seven years working on ETAG’s China Ready Initiative, Alice He, China Social Media Project Manager, has decided to take a career break before moving on to the next chapter.

Alice has played an instrumental role in shaping the Initiative, which continues to go from strength to strength. A few highlights from the recent achievements of the China Ready Initiative include:

  • Winning the China Britain Business Council Marketing Award in February
  • Confirmation of Edinburgh’s position as No.3 in the global Weibo DMO social media channel rankings for 2023
  • Edinburgh continues to be ranked No.1 in Europe across the 3 key Chinese social media channels (Weibo, WeChat and RED)

We are very sad to see Alice go, but wish her all the very best for the future.

As of Monday 1 April, Jinny Xiong will be taking on the role of China Social Media Project Manager.  Jinny has already been working with Alice for the past 6 months, so is well placed ensure that Edinburgh can build on its success in making the most of the projected growth in the China inbound market and the increase in direct flights between Edinburgh and Beijing starting in May 2024.

Jinny will continue recruiting for Year 9 Partners for the ETAG China Social Media Campaign, a great value opportunity for businesses looking to make the most of the China market. For more information email theteam@etag.org.uk
