News: Chinese New Year 2020 and Burns & Beyond Business BriefingPosted on 11 September 2019
THANK YOU to all delegates who attended the briefing at the Assembly Rooms on 10 September 2019. You can find a copy of the presentation here.
As discussed, we want to build on the success of the inaugural 2019 Chinese New Year Festival, and also maximise the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity of celebrations coinciding with Burns Night… the two celebrations won’t happen on the same date again until 2096!
Chinese New Year (CNY) and the Burns & Beyond Festival will therefore have more events, a much larger, joint brochure for 2020 and a bigger marketing campaign. It’s a great opportunity to participate and benefit from one of the world’s largest celebrations – at a traditionally quiet time of year for Edinburgh inbound tourism.
The Year of the Rat starts on 25 January and we aim to launch the brochure on 1 November. It is FREE to list events in the brochure – and the first deadline for submitting your event information is 20 September.
Do please contact us if you would like more information or to discuss your ideas. When ready, please submit your event or promotional information for consideration to the following email group:
An example of the 2019 CNY Brochure can be found here – so you can see the style of listings and the information you will need to provide (eg date, time, website, price, address, promotional copy).
