Did you make it along to the 3 day event this August? Most unfortunately, we did not (someone’s got to look after the kids)! The line-up of speakers for the first day named full stack marketing sounded amazing! Was it any good? Well thanks to the event hashtag on Twitter, #fullstack15, not only do we know it was great! We were able to follow, favourite and share the highlights with you!
Content, User Experience and Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) were popular subjects.
As covered in our SEO Discovery and our pending Google Analytics workshops, user experience is becoming increasingly important to help your web pages rank on Google. Google’s algorithm looks at analytics such as time spent on your web pages, click through rates and whether or not your site renders accordingly on mobile devices (a ranking factor since April 2015).
Content marketing speakers discussed the importance of relevant content, i.e content targeted at the right customer. Another popular mantra at ETAG’s strategy workshops – know your customer! That along with understanding your customer’s journey which is covered in a great presentation mapping content to your customer journey by Stacey McNaught, Director of Search at Tekmark. What was really interesting was the research and attention paid to outside influences such as newsfeeds explaining where people really find out about new brands… and it not necessarily being search. This means we need to really review where our new customers journey really begins! Note to self!
Thanks and appreciation go to Twitter, where we got the highlights from the Turing Festival 2015, enjoyed the crack following #fullstack15 (while juggling childcare) but have decided we’d rather be there in person so keeping an eye on the Turning web site for 2106 dates – maybe see you there?
