ETAG - Developing Your International Tourism Markets - 2 day workshop Wednesday 23rd May 2012
ETAG, in partnership with Scottish Development International, invite you to a 2 day introductory workshop designed specifically for tourism businesses in Edinburgh. The FREE two day workshop is aimed at businesses who are looking to take a proactive approach to developing or growing their international tourism markets. The workshops cover the key areas you need to consider when developing your international tourism markets, including market analysis, routes to markets including working effectively with the travel trade, international marketing and social media, and international bookings, pricing and payments. You will also develop your own international action plan.
Workshop Content:

Module 1 Market Analysis – planning for international tourism markets; understanding current tourism and visitor trends for Edinburgh and Scotland; carrying out effective market research and understanding your markets; which markets to focus on and how;

Module 2 Routes to Market – choosing your route to market; the role of collaboration; exhibitions and trade fairs; working effectively with the travel trade and tour operators; international marketing and social media; taking into account different cultures & languages;

Module 3 International bookings, pricing and payment – doing business with the international market (individual visitors and travel trade);setting an appropriate price; bookings and contracts; cancellations; being protected and getting paid;

Module 4 Support available for your company – Overview of the support available to you including Tourism Intelligence Scotland, SE/HIE, Scottish Development International and UKTI, VisitScotland and VisitBritain targeted towards your own individual business needs; one to one support in developing your international tourism action plan.
This FREE programme, funded through Smart Exporter is targeted at businesses who are new to international markets. Please note 3rd party intermediaries and consultants are not eligible to attend.
